Red, pink, maroon, yellow, black .......... but now roses have also become blue. Its not natural but after 20 years of research and negotiations, an Australian biotech company, Florigene, has received a licence to commercially release the world's first blue rose. Roses are unable to produce a blue pigment, delphidin, natually so scientists had to implant genes from other plants. With the global market for blue flowers reportedly worth $25 billion, it's quite a feat. Blue roses should be avaliable in Japan by the end of the year, but there is no release date set for the rest of the Asia Pacific.........
